Watoto Suubi Village Bathroom Water Treatment
Summary:
20,000 liter solar powered water treatment system was installed in order to collect and treat rainwater and grey water collected from the sinks of the Suubi School. The sanitized water from this system is then used for toilet usage.
Impact:
The environmentally friendly procedure of recycling grey water assures that the people of the Suubi village will always have access to clean drinking water which could be used for irrigation of crops during droughts, sanitation services to decrease the risk of diseases and illness.
By recycling grey water, we ensured that the Suubi community has a sustainable source of safe water to use for irrigation and sanitation services, thus improving community health and reducing the burden of water stress on the village during times of drought.
