Mailiari Health Centre and Francis Ngatunyi

Mailiari Health Centre serves more than 6,000 people in Meru County, Kenya. The centre is managed by nine community board members and employs four Registered Nurses and six auxiliary staff members.

In Nairiri, an impoverished community where most residents lead a nomadic lifestyle, the centre is the only available source of medical care. The dispensary also provides many community members with water access, which is increasingly scarce in the area.

The health center is partnering with H2O4ALL in order to provide safe water access and quality healthcare to the community. The centre will receive a borehole in 2023, which will provide the community with a safe water source and allow the clinic's staff to keep themselves and their patients safe as they serve their community.
