Centro De Salud Danica Medical Clinic
Summary:
10,000 litre rainwater, solar powered purification, safe water system. The project will provide clean water for cleaning, washing and all needs of the clinic. The water source is from the town of Sousa. Water will immediately flow into collection storage tanks where it will be stored and then treated for use. This enables the Clinic to be better able to treat the needs of the village and surrounding communities.
Impact:
Since the project's completion, Centro de Salud Danica has had sufficient water for all its needs. Safe water has reduced the likelihood of water-borne illnesses at the clinic and allowed staff to maintain appropriate hygiene, increasing patient safety and promoting overall community health. In addition, patients no longer have to pay for water.
