Adadome Vocation Centre

Summary:

8,000 gallon, solar-powered, rainwater- harvesting, drinking water system was installed in the village of Kove, allowing over 500 children to be fed each day. This project will promote healthy living for 500 students and improve the quality of life for 5,000 people in the surrounding communities. Not only will this project save lives, but the hours it will save the women every day can be used to create more economic opportunities for themselves.

Impact:

Adadome Vocation Centre now has a safe water source, which provides for 500 students at the school and more than 5,000 people in Kove and the surrounding communities. The rate of waterborne diseases in the community has gone down. In addition, women and children no longer spend hours each day collecting water, allowing children to attend school and creating more economic opportunities for women.
