Watoto Suubi Village Kitchen

Summary:

40,000 liter solar powered drinking water system was installed, allowing 1000 children to be fed each day as productivity of agriculture and irrigation was improved and there was reduced need to cultivate large areas of land for a small yield. This project will promote healthy living for 1000 children and improve the quality of life for 10,000 surrounding communities.

Impact:

The safe water source not only made it possible for Watoto Suubi to feed a thousand kids; it provided a sustainable source of clean water for all the community's needs. The system collects an average of 760,000 litres of water a year.

The project has significantly improved the health of Suubi's children and promoted better school attendance, providing a significantly higher chance for the next generation of Suubi to truly benefit their community through change, development, and prosperity. This promising situation also relieves some nutritional burden on parents, guardians, and families because their children are consistently receiving a healthy meal.
